Immaculate Heart of Mary ChurchLocated in the Polish Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - the Immaculate Heart of Mary was founded as a congregation in 1897. Due to the large influx of Polish immigrants in Pittsburgh, a larger church was built to accomodate the growing parish. The cornerstone for the new church was laid on July 31, 1904 and the project was completed on December 3, 1905. The church was modeled after the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and still serves the community of Polish Hill to this day. |
